Thornell Dumas was born on January 17, 1955 in Hamlet, North Carolina to Frances and Alvin Dumas Jr. He departed this life on Sunday, December 6, 2015 in New Richmond, OH.
On September 1, 1978, Thornell was united in Holy Matrimony to Brenda Thomas. To this union one son was born, Tye Dumas.
Thornell was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Dumas Jr..
He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Brenda Dumas; his mother, Frances Dumas; mother-in-law, Sue Thomas; son, Tye Dumas; siblings, Carretha (Michael) Shaw, Metuchen, NJ; Linda Dumas, Atlanta, GA; Edna (Larry) Littlejohn, Midland, NC; Gretchen Pretty, Hamlet, N.C.; Roslyn Dumas, Highpoint, NC; Michael Dumas, Leland, NC; Craig Dumas, Hamlet, N.C.; Perry (Pamela) Dumas, Clayton, N.C., and Temerial Dumas, Durham, N.C.; brothers-in-law, Henry Thomas, Cornell Thomas, Eugene Thomas and Dennis (Deborah) Thomas; sisters-in-law, Sherry Thomas and Adraienne Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
