J. Timothy (Tim) Poore, 63, of Huntington, WV passed away suddenly on November 16, 2008, in Cabell Huntington Hospital, surrounded by loved ones to whom he devoted his life. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St. John's Episcopal Church, where he was a member, with The Rev. John D. Stonesifer officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Tim was born September 13, 1945, in Williamson, WV, a son of the late Joseph W. Poore and Sue Blankenship Poore Staker and Judge Robert J. Staker. He was the loving husband of Sandy Poore to whom he was married for forty-two years. He is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Julie and Cary Hatfield of Forest Hills, Kentucky and Amy Poore of Charlotte, North Carolina; two special granddaughters Alexandra and Madison, for whom he was their best buddy; a brother Seth Staker of Charleston, WV; "brothers" Jim and Bill Montgomery of Florida; and numerous other relatives, friends, and co-workers. He would not want us to forget to mention his family pets Daisy, Molly, Cooper, and Mickey. He was a graduate of Williamson High School, Marshall University, and North Carolina Central University School of Law. He was a member of the U.S. Naval Reserve and served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Control and Warning Operator before pursuing studies for a career in law. A member of state and local bar associations, he was in private law practice, served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of Mingo County, and City Attorney for Williamson, VVV. He was currently an attorney with the VVV Department of Transportation, Division of Highways, Legal Division. Professionally he lived his belief that the law should be a gentlemens practice. Tim was a gentle, caring, and giving man who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. May he find peace, love, and warmth in God's care. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Chapmans Mortuary.
