Philando Divall Castile was born July 16, 1983. He passed away July 6, 2016. He was 32 years old at the time of his death. Castiles Facebook page said that he attended the University of Minnesota. He graduated from Saint Paul Central High School in 2001 and worked for the Saint Paul Public School District from 2002 until his death. Castile began as a nutrition services assistant at Chelsea Heights Elementary School and Arlington High School (now Washington Technology Magnet School). He was promoted to nutrition services supervisor at J. J. Hill Montessori Magnet School, in August 2014. According to the Associated Press, Castile had in the past been stopped by police at least 52 times.He had been found guilty of 31 misdemeanors and petty misdemeanors, for minor traffic offenses, such as driving without a muffler, driving without a seat belt, operating a vehicle after license revocation, and not having a proper insurance card, and for parking violations.Castile had never been convicted of a serious crime.
