Dr. Cheemun Lum of 49 years passed away on 11 February 2017 in Ottawa, Ontario. His loving wife, Nancy Kennedy, his two children Nicolas 18 yrs and Emilie 15 yrs, his father Yun Foo, his two sisters Andrea and Cathy Lum, and their husbands Witek Zaleski and Ron Joe, survive Cheemun. He was predeceased by his mother Shue Fun in 2015.
His mother-in-law, Pauline Simard, his brothers-in-law, Mark and Michel Kennedy, and their wives, Jodi and Allison, also survive him.
He will be dearly missed by all his nieces and nephews: Andrew, Jenna, Stacy, Mark, Jack, Tommy, Ella, Juliette and Rafaelle, as well as by all of his friends.
Cheemun received his M.D. from University of Ottawa in 1992 and practised neurointerventional radiology since 2001 at The Ottawa Hospital, leading the clinical academic stroke interventional program. His love for his family and various outdoor interests has taken them across Canada and around the world. Cheemun was also very involved in the community, especially in his childrenâs activities. He will be missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue (East of Vanier Parkway), Friday February 17, 2017 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Sacred Space of Beechwood on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke would be appreciated. Le 11 février 2017, à Ottawa, le Dr Cheemun Lum est décédé à lââge de 49 ans. Il était lâépoux bien-aimé de Nancy Kennedy et le père de ses deux enfants quâil adorait Nicolas (18 ans) et Emilie (15 ans). Il était le fils de Yun Foo Lum, ainsi quâun frère et beau-frère aimé par ses deux sÅurs, Andrea et Cathy Lum et leurs maris Witek et Ron. Il est prédécédé par sa mère Shue Fun en 2015.
Il laisse aussi dans le deuil sa belle-mère Pauline Simard, ses beaux-frères, Mark et Michel Kennedy et leurs épouses Jodi et Allison, tous ses neveux et nièces : Andrew, Jenna, Stacy, Mark, Jack, Tommy, Ella, Juliette et Rafaëlle ainsi que dâinnombrables amis.
Cheemun a reçu son diplôme de médecine de lâUniversité dâOttawa en 1992 et pratiquait la neuroradiologie interventionnelle depuis 2001 à lâhôpital dâOttawa. Son amour pour sa famille et pour les activités de plein air, tel le ski de fond et le vélo de montagne, lâont fait voyagé à travers le Canada et le monde. Cheemun était également très impliqué dans sa communauté et dans les activités de ses enfants.
Parents et amis sont invités aux Services Funéraires, cimetières et crémation Beechwood, 280 avenue Beechwood, Ottawa, vendredi 17 février 2017 de 18h à 21h. Une célébration de la vie sera célébré en lâEspace Sacré de Beechwood samedi 18 février 2017 à 14h. Au lieu de fleurs, des dons à la fondation des maladies du cÅur seraient appréciés.
