Timothy Dwayne Popeye Hatcher, age 56, of Williamson, West Virginia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 12, 2020, at Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, Kentucky.
Born February 14, 1964 in Williamson, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Julius Alexander Hatcher and Maxine Rochelle Lawrence.
In addition to his father and mother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Tammy Louise Dotson, four aunts, Jackie, Mary, Arnita, and Patricia; two uncles, Tuffy and Leroy, and cousin Will Bradley.
He attended Williamson High School where he played football, basketball, and baseball for his beloved Wolfpack. Timothy was employed several years under Pierce Whitt. He went on to work for WVDOH for ten years. He then became a self-made man. He took pride in keeping his district clean and was passionate about the elections each year. Popeye and also known to older friends as Gouch was a friend to everyone he met. He was best known for his smile that remains in the hearts of many. Popeye had a special love that he shared with his nephew Josiah which was gardening, He had a special relationship with each and every family member which made him truly special to us all. He always ended with these words Ding Ding shi town dolla bill how bout them Cowboys. He loved his cowboys . When you say keep it real he truly kept it 100 as he always would say. Always keep it 100.
He leaves behind a son, Timothy (Jessie) Mobley, 33, of Winchester, Kentucky, (mother) Susan Mobley Birch; two sisters, Angela (Angelo) Patton, of Hardy, Kentucky, and Hazel (Mark) Smith of Williamson, West Virginia; two brothers, Julius Bob Boo (Tonya) Hatcher and Wilbert Doe Doe (Nikki) Hatcher all of Williamson; aunt, Robin (Mike) Jones; uncles, Larry Murrell of Colorado, Vernon Murrell of Lexington, Kentucky, and Tyrone (Brandie) Wagner. He leaves a host of nephews: Tony, Timothy , Julius, Josiah , Frankie, Christopher, Josh, and Caleb; nieces, Chazidy Monique (Bird), Alexandria( Miss Kitty), and Megan along with a host of great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 19, 2020, at Christ Temple Church, 101 East Fourth Avenue, Williamson, West Virginia (25661). The Funeral Service will immediately follow the visitation and will begin at 1:00 p.m. Everyone attending must wear a mask and practice social distancing.
Interment will follow at Mt. View Memory Gardens, U.S. Route 52, Maher, West Virginia.
In keeping with the Covid-19 Pandemic restrictions masks are required in order to enter the service and social distancing must be practiced. Please be prepared to comply for the safety of all.
