Ernestine Maynard, 89, of Goody, KY, passed away Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at her home.
She was born February 14, 1931, in Williamson, WV, the daughter of the late Leonard and Elkie Smith Maynard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Maynard Sr.; brothers, Quincy, Paul and Raymond Maynard and her sisters, Lou Lowe and Patricia Phillips.
Ernestine was a retired nurse aid and worked for many doctors at the ARH Clinic. She was also a member of the Turkey Creek Old Regular Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Dwight Maynard Jr., Charles Maynard and Patty Maynard all of Goody, KY; grandchildren, Kevin Maynard of Belton, KY, and Justin (Melanie) Maynard of Pikeville, KY; four great grandchildren, Kaylee Maynard and Jenna Maynard of Morehead, KY, Lacie Maynard and Kylie Maynard of Pikeville, KY; nephew, Kenneth (Jackie) Lowe of Chattaroy, WV, and great nephew, Brian Lowe. She also leaves behind a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 26, 2020, beginning at 12 PM at the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with her funeral to begin at 1 PM with Stoney Blackburn, Richard Staton and Hobart Hamilton officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, Ky, with family and friends serving as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Belfry Chapter #141 Disabled American Veterans or to the Belfry Volunteer Fire Department. R. E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry is serving the Maynard family.
