Raymond Carrillo Obituary

Raymond Lopez Carrillo, 83 of Indio, Calif. passed away August 30, 2012 in Palm Springs, Calif. of C.O.P.D. complications. He was born August 1, 1929 and was the only child to Jose V. Carrillo and Guillerma Lopez.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years Lupe Moreno Carrillo. He is also survived by his children: Ramon (Jan), Cristina (Jessie), Joseph (Denise), Angela (James) and Hector ( Beverly). He was preceded in death by one son, Ruben. There are 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Ray Carrillo was in law enforcement for 29 years: Deputy Sheriff, Riverside County Coroners department and was an elected official as the Riverside County Coroner Public Administrator. He owned Carrillo's Restaurant which was operated by his wife and children for 28 successful years. He was active in his community and received numerous awards and recognitions including Latino of the year in 1986.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 with a Rosary service at 11:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass at the hour of 12:00 noon Monday, September 10, 2012 all at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Indio.

Burial will be at the Coachella Valley Cemetery with FitzHenry-Wiefels in Indio in charge of arrangements. The family suggests that donations be made to: Carrillo Ranch Elementary School, 43-775 Madison St. Indio, CA. 92201, in honor of Ray Carrillos name.
