WILLIAMSON — Janice Gillenwater, 75, of Williamson, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington, WV, following a long illness. Born on November 12, 1937, in Raysal, WV, she was the eighth child of the late Roby L. and Maude Caudle Morgan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gillenwater; six brothers, Louis, William, James, Raymond, Garner and Ronald Morgan; and a sister, Nadine Morgan Clark Meeker. Janice was a respected legal secretary whose career spanned 41 years. She was employed with the law firms Slaven, Staker & Smith and Smith and Rumora. She retired in 2000. She was a graduate of Scott High School, a longtime resident of Williamson and an active member of the First Presbyterian Church. Janice enjoyed spending time with her many friends, participating in the women's circle at her church and volunteering at the Appalachian Regional Hospital Gift Shop in South Williamson, KY. Left to cherish her memory are her children Philip Gillenwater of Abington, VA, Jeff (Drucilla) Gillenwater of South Charleston, WV and Pam (Jim) Kenney of Palm Bay, FL; a sister, Freda (William) Mattingly of Leitchfield, KY; a brother, Michael (Judy) Morgan of Huntington, WV, four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body has been cremated and the family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Weaver Mortuary in West Williamson. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Thursday, October 17, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church, 29 West Sixth Avenue, Williamson, WV. 25661. The Reverend Vaughan Smith will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Williamson, 29 West Sixth Avenue, Williamson, WV 25661
