In Memory of
W. Dale Russell
March 23, 1928 - April 3, 2015

Dr. W. Dale Russell, DVM, 87, of Rockville, Ind., passed away at 6:09 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2015, in Union Hospital, Terre Haute, Ind. He was born to Horace D. Russell and Edith Coonce, March 23, 1928, in Tangier, Ind. Dale graduated from Tangier High School in 1946, and from Michigan State University in 1951, with a DVM degree. He established his practice in Dana, Ind., then moved to Rockville in January, 1954. He sold his practice in 1988 to Dr. Joe Seward, but continued to work parttime for the practice. He was a past president of VI District Vet Association and was a life member of IVMA. He served three terms on the Parke County Council, having input on construction of the Parke County Jail. He also served as vice president of the Association of the Indiana Counties. He was a past president of both the Parke County Golf Course and Indiana State Senior Golf Association. He loved golf, and was a 24-year participant in the World Amateur of Myrtle Beach, S.C. He was also a 30-year participant in the ABC National Championship. He was a charter member of the Rockville Elks and past member of the Rockville Rotary club. He is survived by his wife, Chris, whom he married in Rockville Jan. 30, 1975. He is also survived by his sons, Ron, Gary and Dave Russell of Phoenix, Larry Russell of Houston and Troy Mazely of Albuquerque, N.M; daughters, Terry Holt of Phoenix, and Robyn White (Danny) of Rockville; grandchildren, Amber Bentley of Phoenix, Kyle Mazely of Lancaster, Calif., Erica Russell of Sullivan, Ind., and Adam, Austin, Ethan, and Ashton White of Rockville; and his dog, Scooter. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Kenneth D. Russell; grandson, Kyle Kuhn; and dogs, Cricket and Suzer. At Dale's request, there will be no services and cremation has been chosen. Barnes and Rice Funeral Home of Rockville assisted with arrangements.
