Ernest Boyd Murphy, 69 of Owingsville, KY, formerly of Belfry, KY, passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 in the Hilltop Nursing Home, Owingsville, Ky. He was born June 19, 1942 at Belfry, Ky. the son of the late Rev. Ernest Prock and Euna Smith Murphy. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ernestine Ray. He was self-employed and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. He was a member of the Stone Masonic Lodge # 890 F. & A.M., a 32nd degree Mason and the El Hasa Shrine Club. He is survived by two sons, Frederick (Tina) Murphy of Winchester, Ky. and Mark Todd Murphy of Morehead, Ky.; grandson, Michael Todd Murphy of Morehead, Ky. and his caregiver, Sandra Murphy of Morehead, KY. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 25, 2012 at 1 PM in the R. E. Rogers Funeral Home Chapel with Buddy Kendrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Memory Gardens, Huddy, KY with sons, grandson and friends serving as pallbearers. Stone Masonic Lodge # 890 F. & A.M. will conduct Masonic graveside services. Visitation will be held from 11 AM till time for the funeral Wednesday.
