Horse Track Announcer. He was the public race track announcer for Churchill Downs, Ellis Park, Hollywood Park, Ruidoso Downs and Kentucky Downs raceways. A graduate of the University of Arizona, he began his announcing career at Turf Paradise in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1996 he was named track announcer at Hollywood Park raceway in Inglewood, California. Following a brief three year stay at Hollywood Park, he moved to Churchill Downs in 1999 where he called the Kentucky Derby race as part of the ESPN radio network until 2008. He also appeared in several voice-over commercials for Hertz rental cars, and also provided voice-over segments for the the CBS television shows Martial Law and the Sentinel. He was found by co-workers in his Evansville apartment after failing to report for work at Ellis Park raceway.
Cremated, Ashes scattered.
