Peter Jerome Randolph Sr., Attorney at Law, age 84, departed this life on Sunday morning January 10, 2016 at his home in Cincinnati, Ohio. Attorney Randolph leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Mary Ann Randolph; four children [Lisa, Paula (Lonnie) Hollins, Peter Jr {deceased} (Tracie), and Jason (Tonya)]; three grandchildren: Abrielle Ramsey, Jasmine Randolph, and Sasha Randolph. One great grandson, Zion Snow. Attorney Randolph was a pioneer in many respects. He was the first African American high school student in Cincinnati to be elected "Mayor for a Day" in 1949. He served as one of the Plaintiff's Attorneys in the landmark Mallory vs. Eyrich case. The Plaintiffs in that case fought for over seven years but finally convinced the Federal court to strike down a Hamilton County Wide election scheme because it was in violation of the 1964 Voting Rights Act. Attorney Randolph's viewing and visitation will be on Friday, January 15, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 745 Ezzard Charles Drive from 5:00pm - 7:30pm. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Saint Peter in Chains Cathedral, 325 West 8th Street. Mass will begin promptly at 12:30p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to St. Joseph Catholic School 745 Ezzard Charles Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45202. -
