Mildred L. Davis

Mildred L. Davis, (photograph), 82, of Hardy, Kentucky joined Jesus and her loved ones Monday, January 15, 2007 at ARH Skilled Nursing Facility in South Williamson, Kentucky. Born April 16, 1924, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of Hubert and Emma Webb of Victoria, Tennessee. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Jim and Hubert, Jr.; and two sisters: Ophelia and Mabel. She was the widow of Mr. James E. Davis. Mrs. Davis is survived by two brothers, Thaddeus “Pete” Webb of Jasper, Tennessee and Billy Webb of Chattanooga, Tennessee. She is also survived by three daughters, Cynthia (Eugene) Mitchell of Atlanta, Georgia, Joanne (Nash) Cunningham, III of Stirratt, West Virginia, and Sophia (Tim) Chambers of Hardy, Kentucky. She also leaves to mourn four grandchildren, Teresa Cunningham of Lexington, Kentucky, Ernest Mitchell of Newport News, Virginia, Michael Mitchell of Washington, D. C., and Elizabeth Chambers of Hardy, Kentucky. Mildred also had four great grandchildren, Nasir and Nicholas Mitchell of Hammond, Louisiana and Makaila and Nashay Hamlin of Norfolk, Virginia. She gave her life to the Lord at an early age. She was a faithful member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of which she served the Lord for 50 plus years. Mildred is also survived by a number of dear friends and other relatives. Visitation is 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, January 19, 2007, at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home in Belfry, Kentucky. Funeral services are noon, Saturday, January 20, 2007 at R. E. Rogers Funeral Home with Rev. Willie James Harris officiating. Interment is at Mountain View Memory Gardens in Huddy, Kentucky. Pallbearers are members of the Pike County Sheriff's Department. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Cunningham, James Bradley, Paul Joyce, and Donnie Wilkerson
