Helena Faye Lena Scott, 84, of West Williamson, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Williamson Memorial Hospital.

Born May 24, 1932, at Goody, Ky., she was a daughter of the late Leonard Blackburn and Eula Crabtree Blackburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James B. Scott, and a sister, Lois Jeanne Blackburn. Retired for many years, Lena was the general manager of Ferrell Gas.

Lena was a devoted member of the Borderland Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of the choir for many years until her health began to decline. Lena's testimony is that she had walked with the Lord since her early childhood days and was always faithful to her church and to her family. She will be greatly missed but she has gone on to her Heavenly home with God for all eternity.

Lena is survived by two children: a son, James "Jim" Scott and his wife, Nina, of Morristown, Tenn., and Jeanne Marie Scott of Williamson; a sister, Alice and her husband, Harvey Taylor of Williamson; two loving nieces and their husbands, Paula Jean and Danny Chafin of Georgetown, Texas, and Pamela Jo and Rick Browning of Beverly Hills, Fla.; two special and close great-nephews, Scott Tyler (Katy) Hurley of Dallas, Texas, and J.T. (Lelia Zerka) Hurley of Huntington, W.Va.

There will be no visitation. A service celebrating Lena's life will be held Sunday, September 11, immediately following the morning worship service at the Borderland Baptist Church at Borderland, W.Va.
