Katherine Michelle Hinds
June 15, 1981 - April 29, 2016

KATHERINE MICHELLE HINDS June 15, 1981 - April 29, 2016 Katherine Michelle Hinds, 34, of Auburn, died Friday, April 29, 2016 in Seattle, Washington. Katie was born in Opelika, AL on June 15, 1981. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Glenn and Altine Hinds, grandfather Ben Fitzpatrick, Jr., and uncle Chris (Sloan) Hinds, all of Auburn. Katie is survived by her mother, Susan Fitzpatrick (Kelly) Pool of Auburn, her father, Allen L. Hinds of Los Angeles, CA, sister Becky Adkins (Kent) Bootz, three children, Julian, Maxwell and Charlotte, all of Birmingham, uncles Jack Fitzpatrick of Auburn, Kenneth Fitzpatrick of Jonas Ridge, NC, Thomas (Katarina) Hinds of Montgomery, Gary Hinds of San Diego, CA, Dennis (Teresa) Hinds of Atlanta, Aunts Katy (Dave) Hinds of New Orleans, Jenny (Jann) Swaim of Auburn, and grandmother Marjorie H. Fitzpatrick, of Auburn, as well as many other family members and friends. Katie worked as a veterinary technician and had a special love for animals. She also had a phenomenal gift for photography with an artist's eye. She saw the beauty and majesty of things that some of us were oblivious to until we saw it captured by her lens. Katie was also a talented animal whisperer, wrecker of cars, and a gifted Scrabble player. She was a Blue, southern girl from a Red, southern state. She hated seeing people in poverty, the mistreatment of animals, the color pink, hot, humid summers, and poor grammar. She claimed not to like country music, but some of it made her cry. She also said she hated football, but was secretly delighted when Auburn won exciting games. She was a master of losing keys, cell phones, cars, and retainers when she had braces. Katie loved nature, the mountains, Doc Martens (those dark, cherry red ones), Gold Hill, movies, Calvin and Hobbes, quirky TV shows, octopi, writing, and music, especially The Beatles, Prince, and Tom Waits. She had a quick wit and was gifted in the use of sarcasm. A policeman once asked her how her car ended up in Cary Creek. She replied, "Isn't it obvious?" Katie was loved by many, and many loved her as well, especially her family, animals, friends, and her special friends of Bill Wilson. But, the three people she loved the most were her children Jude, Max, and Charlie. No definite arrangements have been made yet. However, as she wished, her ashes will be scattered at Gold Hill.

In lieu of flowers, do not vote for Donald Trump. If you would like to remember her by a different gesture, any donations to Chattahoochee Valley Humane Society, 3265 Fairfax Bypass, Valley, AL 36854 would be appreciated.
