UPLAND - Joseph De Koekkoek, 81 years of age, of Upland, died May 17, 2004 at the Christian Heritage Care Center of Upland. He was born January 23, 1923 in Edgerton, Minnesota and was an Upland resident for the last four years. He was a resident of the Ontario/Chino areas since 1968. He was in Retail Sales of Dairy and Farm Supplies in the Chino area for many years and from 1975 to 1995 in Cash Register Sales within the Inland Empire. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Army. Mr. De Koekkoek was preceded in death by his daughter, Jo Ann Thibodo, October 26 , 1986 and his four sisters, Adriana Hoogland, Betty and Jane Zwart and Pauline Van Grouw. He is survived by his four sons, Leroy De Koekkoek of Laguna Niguel, David De Koekkoek of Chino, Gary De Koekkoek of Moreno Valley and Alan De Koekkoek of Enumclaw, Washington; four sisters, Henrietta Warntjes of Ontario, Trudy Camping, Johanna Visser and Bertha De Vries, all of Phoenix, Arizona; one brother, Ben De Koek of Seal Beach; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a. m. Thursday, May 20, 2004 at the Calvary Christian Reformed Church, 4550 Eucalyptus Avenue, Chino, CA. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 20, 2004, also at the church. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4471 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Radio Bible Class, P.O. Box 2222, Grand Rapids, MI, 49555-0001 or to the Christian Heritage Care Center, 275 N. Garnet, Upland, CA 91786.
