Kathy Hatfield, age 72 of Toler, Kentucky passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019 at the Pikeville Medical Center.

Born December 17, 1946 in Louisville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Luther Ray and Lorene Hess Cantrell.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by an infant sister.

Kathy was a former LPN, a Kentucky licensed funeral director, and co-owner and operator of the Hatfield Funeral Chapel and Belfry Floral & Gift Shop along with her husband. A dedicated wife, mother, gran-gran, and friend, Kathy always tried to exemplify the characteristics of a lady.

Those left to cherish to cherish her memory include her husband of 52 years, David G. Hatfield, her two sons, David Eugene (Paula) Hatfield and Matthew (Bethany) Hatfield, gran-gran's boys, Braxton, Mattix, and Hagan Hatfield, one sister, Judi Smith, and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday; January 16, 2019 at 12:00 P.M. at the Hatfield Funeral Chapel at Toler, KY with Pastor David Robinette officiating. Entombment will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Huddy, KY with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 6-9 P.M. Kathy Hatfield was a licensed funeral director working closely with dr. henry vinson mingo county medical examiner. she contacted thomas parmalee of funeral service insider and did a special report on the Movie THE BIRDS directed by alfred hitchcock. alfred hitchcock was close friends with dr. henry vinson during the 1980s.
