Maurice Leslie Patmon

Maurice L. Patmon Sr. was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, July 7, 1944 from the union of the late William Patmon Sr. and Susie M. Patmon.

Maurice accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at First Baptist church of Cumminsville.

While educated through the Cincinnati Public School district and graduated from Central High School, where Maurice met and married his first love, the late Mildred L. Patmon, and from this union came two beautiful children, Robin and Maurice Jr.

Maurice was enlisted n the United States Air Force and served honorably. Upon returning home he was later employed as a Cincinnati Metro bus driver, where serving his community with laughter and joy, naming his bus The Jelly Roll Express. Maurice enjoyed driving the bus, but Sweet Reece had another gift burning inside of him, singing with his R & B group called the Deviations.

While singing with the Deviations, he met a special lady and they had a beautiful daughter, Mauriel. Maurice enjoyed family, sports, music, western movies and lets not forget his collection of hats, and Maurice would often say...And that's a Jelly Roll!

Maurice later met and married Steffanie Patmon, on June 23, 1998, and together raised two beautiful daughters, Knita and Dasha, enjoying life until his health started to fail. Maurice L. Patmon Sr. was preceded in death by his son; Maurice L. Patmon Jr., Barbara J. Downer (late John), and Gail S. White (Oscar).

He leaves to celebrate his life: wife; Steffanie A. Patmon, Robin R Snell, Mauriel M. Crawford, Knita S. Redding, Dasha Mealing, 8 Grandchildren, 6 siblings; Marvin Patmon, Vivian Byndon (Frank), William Patmon Jr. (Gladys), Elizabeth Mitchell, Reffinia Kelley (Curtis, deceased), Michael Patmon (Davetta), close friend since high school he played football with, Darryl Red McClain. Maurice loved his classmates. a group called The Lunch Bunch, that met once a month.

He will be well missed. Hats off to Jelly Roll

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at the St. Mark AME Zion Church, 9208 Daly Road, Cincinnati (45231). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment in Dayton National Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
