In Loving Memory of Georgina Gillian Teeters Georgina Gillian Forsyth Teeters, 70, of Chattaroy, WV, passed away on February 28, 2021, at the Tug Valley ARH Regional Medical Center in South Williamson, KY.

Born June 21, 1950, in Quincy MA, she was a daughter of the late Chester Forsyth, Jr. and Georgina Gillian Forsyth of South Williamson, KY. In addition to her parents Georgina was also preceded in death by two brothers, Chester Forsythe, III and George Forsyth.

In 1955 Georgina’s father, Chester Forsyth, accepted an engineering position with the Appalachian Regional Hospital in South Williamson, KY as construction began on a modern healthcare facility. Chester’s employment with the hospital continued after the completion of the new hospital and in 1957 he moved his wife and young family from Quincy, MA to South Williamson. Georgina and her twin sister, Susan were age seven.

Following in her dad’s footsteps, Georgina became an employee of the Appalachian Regional Hospital and worked there as a widely respected and well-liked pharmacy technician for 37 years. She loved her work in the pharmacy and enjoyed helping patients with their healthcare needs.

It has often been discussed within the Tetters’ family how important the South Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital has been in the life of their family as Georgian’s father came from Massachusetts to work on the construction of the hospital, Georgina later accepted employment with the hospital, and she would met her future husband, Samuel Tetters of Chattaroy, when he too became an employee of the hospital. Without the building of the hospital, the two may never have met; but they did meet, fell in love, and married on September 19, 1970. They established their home in Chattaroy, later welcoming two daughters and a son into their active family. Georgina and Sam celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this past September.

Prior to her retirement, Georgina served as the president of Local Steelworkers Union 14398. She was a former member of the Williamson Women’s Club and she was a member of the Huntley Freewill Baptist Church.

Even while working outside the home, Georgina, an excellent seamstress, enjoyed sewing. She also enjoyed tending her flower gardens. Over the past several years she was happy to stay connected with family and friends through her computer, computer games, and she especially enjoyed the computer time she spent with her twin sister, Sue. Georgina was so very loved by her family and her many friends. She was fortunate to have connected with several generations of area families over the many years that she worked at the ARH Pharmacy. She was so well liked because of her easy going and spirited disposition, her quick wit and her willingness to help anyone in need.

Georgina was a wonderful wife, a loving mother and a doting grandmother. She loved her grandchildren and adored each of them. Family meant everything to Georgina and Georgina meant everything to her family. She lived a beautiful life and leaves beautiful memories to be cherished and treasured always. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her.

Georgina is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Samuel Teeters; a son, Patrick (Judith Kindle) Teeters of Chattaroy; two daughters, Samantha (Eddie) Harris of South Williamson, KY and Nancy (Charles) Roberts of Louisa, KY; six grandchildren, Aaron (Maya King) Roberts, Haley Roberts, Destiny Paige Teeters, Silas Atkinson, Noah and Sophie Stepp; two sisters, Sue Dotson, of Orlando, FL and Nancy (George) Spiggle of Hudson, FL; many beloved nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; very special friends, Sherry Barker, Sherry Pyskowski and Bonnie Stanley; her beloved pets, Bear, Pepper and Thor; and her beloved physician Vellaiappan Somasundaram, MD and his staff who gave her so much love in addition to their compassionate and professional care.
